Great stopover historical attraction in the Bangor radius. Definitely see both the fort and the observatory on the bridge (as well as the bridge itself). Plan for about 3-4 hours to see everything.

You really need to check this place out its a fort from the 1860 S probably the coolest thing in the mid coast Maine region

If you plan on going to Fright At The Fort...arrive shortly after they open. Otherwise, too many people are there at the end and they send everyone through in one big group, which ruins it!

Don't miss the tunnels along the dry moat, or "ditch" as the sign says. Bring a flashlight.
